Install electrical distribution final circuits
Electrical Installation – Install electrical distribution final circuits
Objective
o ensure that a candidate has the knowledge, skills and ability to safely and accurately isolate a three-phase distribution board, install final circuits, and carry out dead tests using appropriate materials, equipment, tools and techniques.
Scope and range
A three-phase distribution board (minimum 100amp 6 way), a separate point of isolation, existing pre-installed circuits, and suitable cable and accessories.
Summary
The candidate must demonstrate that they can safely and accurately install two circuits (3Ø and 1Ø) into an existing three-phase distribution board. The candidate will be observed by an ECITB approved examiner at all times during the assessment. The examiner must record a pass or refer for each of the practical test activities.
Technical test delivery requirements
The test area must be well lit and ventilated. All materials, equipment and tools must be appropriate for the task and in good order. A range of tools and test equipment, with appropriate documentation should be available for the candidate to choose from, part of the test is the ability to select and use the correct equipment and tools.

Health and safety
The examiner must observe that:
• The candidate is aware of the importance of health and safety in the workplace and demonstrates this understanding at all times
• The candidate observes specific safety requirements relating to the preparation and correct use of the materials, tools, equipment and methods of working outlined in this specification
